SELF-ESTEEM ENHANCEMENT FOR KIDS

A CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT/EDUCATION PROGRAM

GRADES K-12

Building character and self-esteem is an inside job.  Isn’t it true that a child can be surrounded by the most loving and supportive parents, the best teachers, and the greatest of friends and still feel lonely, insecure, unloved, and unmotivated?  Absolutely.  Support systems in life are extremely important, but ultimately it is up to the individual as to how he or she chooses to act or react in life.  How can a child show respect for another human being if one does not have respect for oneself?  How can a child believe and trust others if one does not believe or trust oneself?  How can a child learn to accept if one does not accept oneself?  How can a child learn to love and appreciate life if one does not learn to love and appreciate one’s own life?

While it is vital that we all learn to live and accept one another, it is just as important that we learn to live and accept ourselves.  Learning to accept our minds, our bodies, our abilities, our successes, our failures, our potential, and everything else that we have been given for simply being alive is a journey that all human beings embark upon.  The sooner we become aware of this miraculous journey, the sooner we can begin to embrace all that life has to offer within ourselves and within others.  Why do we have to begin this journey when life becomes challenging for us as adults?  Why can’t it begin when we are young, more open-minded, more fearless, and more willing to embrace change?  Well, it can!

S.E.E.K. delivers strategies and techniques that children and teens can begin to integrate into their daily lives that will help them enhance their self-esteem, build character, develop acceptance and tolerance of others and oneself, foster leadership, and promote overall wellness in their lives.
